Course Rules

At Travis B. Bryan Municipal Golf Course we adhere to a list of rules and regulations for your safety and the safety of other players. These policies are in place in order to provide each of our players with a relaxed and enjoyable environment. U.S.G.A. rules govern all play except as modified. In addition, players must abide by the following course rules:

  1. All players must register and pay in the pro shop before play, and must start on hole #1 unless authorized to start on #10 by the staff.
  2. Good pace of play is important to everyone’s enjoyment of their round. Groups are expected to play a round in 4 hours or less. Please invite faster groups to play through; however, singles and twosomes do not have any priority. A group must maintain its position at the turn, between #9 green and #10 tee, or the following group(s) will be allowed to play through.
  3. Play Ready Golf: Plan your shot while others are playing so you are ready when it’s your turn.
  4. All players must have their own bag and set of clubs.
  5. Dress code: appropriate golf attire, including shirts with sleeves must be worn at all times. This includes wearing golf appropriate shoes. We are a soft spikes facility – no metal spikes or other footwear that might damage the course are allowed.
  6. No personal coolers are allowed. Players are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages onto the golf course property that were not purchased from the golf course. These are TABC and City of Bryan regulations, and violation can result in confiscation of the alcohol and/or expulsion from the facility.
  7. Players who in any way make themselves objectionable or who don’t follow the course rules will be denied playing privileges.
  8. Foursomes are our standard group size. Singles, twosomes or threesomes may be combined by the staff to maximize golf course availability. Fivesomes are only allowed if the course is not busy, as determined by the staff.
  9. Golf carts must remain on the cart paths within 30 yards of all tees and greens. Please stay on the cart path for the duration of all par 3’s and any other roped holes. Otherwise, the 90 degree rule is in effect. With an approved handicap flag you may park within 15 yards or at the bottom of slopes, or enter roped fairways if conditions allow as determined by the staff.
  10. Etiquette: Please fill divots with sand, repair ball marks on greens and rake bunkers.
  11. Players are responsible for any damage they cause, including but not limited to the result of their golf shot or while operating a golf cart.
  12. Players must be 18 years old with a valid driver’s license to drive a golf cart. Players must sign a responsibility agreement for the use of the golf cart. Only two adult riders per golf cart – including spectators — and both must pay a cart fee. Children 12 and under may ride in a golf cart with adult supervision.
  13. The use of private golf carts is allowed but the player must pay a trail fee.
  14. No pets are allowed on the course.
  15. The management of the golf course is authorized and reserves the right to put into effect additional rules for the protection and safety of customers and the facility.
